Message to First-Year Students:Always go to class (in person or online). You never know when a professor might give homework tips or extra credit points for just showing up to class.

Message to First-Year Students:Work hard in your studies, but don't forget that you do still have the rest of your life to work on and succeed in. Every recruiter will say that they look at more than GPAs when they look for hires. Make sure to stretch yourself inside and outside of the classroom, on your hard and soft skills, and keep your physical and mental health in mind through it all. Your time at Texas A&M is more than just teaching you how to be an engineer, it's about being a stepping stone into the next phase of your life, and you need to prepare for that just as much as you need to prepare for your next exam.

Message to First-Year Students:Don’t feel down if and when things don't go your way, both academically and socially. College is an exciting, yet challenging, part of our lives and you can't possibly be perfect in everything. Just keep improving little by little and eventually it will turn out okay!

Message to First-Year Students:Relax and soak in your surroundings. This is the start of four short years on campus, so enjoy yourself and do activities that you like because that is equally important as being academically involved.

Favorite Texas A&M Tradition:Silver Taps! I like it because I am moved every time, and I hope everyone goes for the experience at least once. I think that having the student body as a reminder to the family that they are supported is something that is very respectful and unique.
Favorite Study Break Activity:For short study breaks, I often take a short walk outside, especially if the weather is cool. For longer breaks, I either go ice skating or play tennis!
Message to First-Year Students:Time goes quickly! Be sure to develop relationships, memories, or anything that you can cherish when you look back in the future! Work hard, play harder!
