As a student who has always had a strong passion for math and science, I knew at a very young age that I was meant to be an engineer. Ultimately, it was my innate desire to revolutionize the energy industry by improving the standard of living for people all around the world that lead me on my path to becoming the first petroleum engineer in my family.

There are many avenues and resources for success at A&M, so take initiative and reach out to people in need of help, advice, or someone to talk to. I’ve learned that taking care of yourself goes beyond just eating healthy or sleeping well. Sometimes, things such as studying outside of your dorm/room, for example, can have a big impact on your mentality.

I chose my major because I want to make a difference in developing technologies and space crafts that would improve our chances of colonizing Mars or even achieving warp speed.

One of my favorite traditions here at Texas A&M is the Aggie ring. It is something that I'm really looking forward to. It has been proven that once you receive your Aggie ring, more career opportunities arise. You can join the Aggie network and are able to network more with older alumni.

I chose my major, computer science because I fell in love with coding and the problem-solving aspect that comes with it. I have always had a love for technology and to be able to find a job where I get to work with it every day and gain new experiences and knowledge at every turn is something I truly look forward to. It is a field that is changing every single day and is becoming more and more competitive and because of that, every day is a new challenge that I look forward to.

Take on challenges. Texas A&M University offers a lot of opportunity, like SEC Career Fair, and lots of it might seem daunting. You can do so much more than you think, so take on a challenge and watch yourself succeed!
