Admissions Eligibility

You must meet the following requirements to be considered for admission to our Master of Engineering in engineering program:

  • A Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in an engineering discipline.
    • Leveling courses required for students with a non-ABET bachelor's degree in engineering. These leveling courses are in addition to those fulfilling a student's Master of Engineering in engineering degree plan. Some example leveling courses include differential equations, particle statics and dynamics, and design courses.
  • A minimum GPA of 3.0 for an undergraduate degree and at the graduate level.

Required Application Documents

You must have the following documents to apply:

  • Your application.
  • 个人statement.In this one page essay, describe why you want to pursue graduate studies in interdisciplinary engineering and subsea engineering, and why you feel that Texas A&M is the right place for your graduate studies. Also, include your academic background in this area and any relevant experience you may have in this field. Submit yourstatement of purpose through the online application system. Do not send hard copies to the graduate office.
  • Three letters of recommendation from professors or employers.(Current Texas A&M graduate students may submit two letters of recommendation).It is preferred that these letters come from faculty or employers/supervisors who have been involved with the student's most advanced levels of academic education and who can assess the student's potential for advanced scholarly studies. Do not include letters from family, friends or other non-technical referees who cannot assess your academic abilities fairly.
  • Your resumé.
  • Unofficial transcriptsfrom all previously attended college institutions (official transcripts will be required if you are admitted).
  • English-language proficiency.Applicants whose native language is not English must submit proof of English proficiency to be eligible for review. Visit theTexas A&M admissions websitefor a list of acceptable documentation and/or test scores.

All applicants should apply to the MEng in Engineering throughEngineeringCAS. Once in the application, you will choose your specialty (ie, cybersecurity systems, subsea).
